Ready Made Curtains

Finding this colored duo in drapery is a little harder than other combos, but you will be able to find narrow ready made pink curtains, that you can intermingle on the same curtain rod with the red curtains. Alternating colors on each side will help mute the red and put it into a more calming state. Another method is to use a double curtain rod, and place the red curtains closest to the window and the pink curtains facing the room. By opening the pink panels, and partially opening the red ones, it will give a similar effect.

This is still a simple process even if you do not know how to sew. There are many stay at home moms that take in sewing and alterations as a part time job in most neighborhoods. You can hire her to make your custom drapery for a reasonable fee. You will need to go to your local curtain fabric store, and pick out your curtain materials, and eyelets. Be sure and ask your seamstress how much fabric you will need to complete the project. Remember you want four curtain panels in all for your window covering. Two narrow panels each of pink and red to alternate on the curtain rod.

Choosing just the right curtain rod for this project will be easy. You will either want to go with a white glossy curtain pole, or a pink shade that is many times lighter than your drapery color. You need matching curtain rings to attach the drapery to the rod before installing. Some curtain rods include the matching rings, and others sell them as accessories.

You will want to accessorize your room with pink and red items never letting one over power the other, and a strategically placed pink area rug will help pull the décor together. Small heart shaped red throw pillows, and a red and pink lava lamp, or even a pink chandelier with red accents will take the whole project to new a level of shock and awe for your daughter and her friends.

Pink shower curtains are an abundant consumer item, and they have many materials and shades to choose from in their inventory. You can find several pink and red shower curtains online too, and most will have a valentines theme, but other patterns are available to the shopper that looks hard enough.
